Hornby is face of Meridian Tonight
Phil Hornby, ITV Meridian’s political editor, is to become a main presenter of Meridian Tonight for the south-east.
Hornby, 42, replaces Geoff Clark alongside Charlotte Hawkins to present the 6pm weekday programme.
He joined Meridian’s predecessor, TVS, 20 years ago as a trainee journalist in the south-east newsroom, and worked there as a sub-editor, reporter, presenter and producer. In 1993 he became Meridian’s political editor.
After a spell with BBC Midlands Today , in 1997 he returned to ITV in Westminster to provide political coverage for both Meridian and Anglia Television.
He recently produced a documentary for Meridian on the 20th anniversary of the Brighton bomb.
