I'd imagine when South Today get a major technical upgrade (which won't be for a few years), they'll probably overhaul the whole thing. Right now it is one bodge after another.

Surely South Today are due a technical upgrade immentently, afterall they still don't have 16:9 and over the past year both North West Tonight, and Look East cambridge, have been upgraded to 16:9, so surely we can expect to see something happen this year couldn't we?

You're telling me that they still broadcast in 4:3?

No in they broadcast in 14:9, which is often a letterboxed version of 4:3.

Well, that's what I meant really - sorry didn't explain it very well.

BBC Southampton has had most of the upgrade work done already. It's just the cameras and GFX left to do. Full 16:9 is expected in April as I understand it.

We're trying to update our site. Does anyone know if there's an official site for BBC South East presenter Juliette Parkin?

I did my work experience at BBC South back in the day when it was at Southwestern House.

Lovely place, lovely people, made Sally Taylor a few cups of tea, and bruce and they were very nice. Couldn't swing a cat in the studio though!

Never forget the day when the techs had a strike, they got me to get the placards then left me while they went to the pub! I was their one man picket ! No wonder I didn't get a job there lol

I really shouldn't think so. She's more a reporter and only usually a stand in presenter.

I'd wouldn't be surprised if there was only an official site for Meridian's Fred Dinenage.

This has probably been mentioned but former Children's BBC 1980's presenter, Simon Parkin is now a Meridian Weather forecaster. Well well.

Interesting to see South East Today's latest Internet story today. It was the normal 'think of the children' stuff but the report included a shot of You Tube (this video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqqVrnZm4IQ) which includes the 'C' word in written form. This was shown at 6:30pm and the word was on the screen for at least 3 or 4 seconds. I wonder if it will be included in the late bulletin?

On another note, anyone know why Geoff Clarke was presenting the 6:30 South East Today solo on Tuesday?
