Who would you like to see become a presenter, or who would you like to see become a reporter.

I would like to see Adam Parssons - BBC News Sports Correspndent- try presenting. After all Huw Edwards had little presenti/ng experience when he began on the Six in'99 - so what's to stop others?

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Adam Parsons would be good, yeah. Hes quite serious too. Think I'd like to see Philip Hayton doing a bit more reporting.

I think Lyse Doucet is a fantastic presenter and reporter. Shame that she is stuck away on BBC WORLD and BBC WORLD SERVICE which means folk in the UK hardly know of her.

It would be nice to see her move to either BBC NEWS 24 or BBC ONE NEWS for a while. It would be good to see her either presenting or reporting on either of these channels. She has a very warm personality but can deliver in a very serious manner - which would suit either channel.

Does anyone else like Lyse?

You can still see Lyse on News 24 at 9.30am most Monday mornings. One of her usual shifts coincides with the World News bulletin on News 24. She's been on a break for a few weeks, but returned this Thursday/Friday on World.

I'm afraid I'm not a fan of Lyse - don't get me wrong, I'm sure she's a very nice person, but she comes across as impersonal and cold IMO...

I'd like Andrew Simmonds brought back to presenting as I think his style of presenting is second to none.

I think Chris Eakin would be quite a good reporter as well.

I don't mind Lyse, she's concise and can be interesting. I wonder though where she is from, she has an accent I've not heard.

She's from New Brunswick in Canada. I think she is French-Canadian.

I'm not sure about Lyse really - her delivery sometimes seems stilted and I haven't really recognised the "warmth" in her personality.

There have been lots of good reporter to presenter moves though - Gavin Esler, Matthew Amroliwala and Bill Turnbull have settled into their BBC presenting jobs very well, making the change successfully. On ITV BIll Neely, Mark Austin and Katie Derham offer similar examples.

However, if you want evidence of reporters who shouldn't have made the move look no further than Laura Trevelyan, whose recent shifts on News 24 have been anything but great, and indeed the once great Africa correspondent George Alagiah.

The same goes for ITN's Mark Webster and John Draper, who do ITV News's overnight shift. Both very good reporters, but terrible presenters.
