Not a fan of the lighting for Kay Burley’s show, it makes Millbank look even more dated, especially in the wide shots. Hopefully it’s getting a significant revamp for the New Year. IMO they should send Burley out on the campaign trail, it would offer something different to the other breakfast shows. Although I suppose an issue would be the lack of guests available in person.

Anyway there was an older tweet from him saying he was moving to Newsnight after Brexit and a (at that time) potential General Election so it may have been delayed:
I will miss it and my incredible colleagues so much. But I’m not going anywhere yet. Not taking up the job until the winter. Until then just the small matter of Brexit and a possible election to get through first...I can’t wait to do that and then get started. If I’m still alive.
I've seen more of Kay recently than ever before - having a full time job gets in the way of watching TV in the daytime. But is she always so "random" with off-the-cuff remarks?
I had to laugh a day or two ago. Coming out of a break she mentioned how we were set to go the polls and proceeded to ask viewers to send in their thoughts. "Who will you be voting for? Will you bother voting as it'll be so cold!?" Then she interviewed some Tory politician and ended with making him promise, quite pointedly, that he would "pop" her in his pocket and take her with him on the Sky app. She then went into the break with a quip about Tory politicians never keeping their promises.
Hilarious! Have to say she makes for interesting viewing in the morning. BBC Breakfast isn't even worth bothering with anymore. I find the whole thing completely saccharine. I used to watch GMB but I'm now dividing my precious 15 minutes in front of the TV between that and Sky News. It seems Kay has won me over so far.
Are there any other mainstream news presenters who Tweet as much as she does? Here's today's:
Be very afraid @BorisJohnson. underestimate the British public at your peril
Alastair Stewart has responded. Good on him. Burley's crossed the line.
It is not for any TV reporter or presenter to tell a party leader to 'be afraid'.
Ours is to report fact and reaction to fact: it is not for us to offer our own judgement.
Those that do, risk losing any remaining credibility.
I think if we want to see day to day tweets of broadcasters and respond to them we can do so on Twitter.
It seems reasonable to repost them here only if they reveal information about programming or presentation.
It's more than that though. If a channel's presentation includes plastering presenters' Twitter addresses on screen, viewers should not expect to see impartial Tweets.

You can embed tweets here, it makes it a lot easier to follow:
I have to say, "remaining credibility" is quite the line. And very easy to agree with.

I don’t think there was anything wrong with Kay’s tweet. It is literally her job to question and hold to account those seeking to lead us, just as she brilliantly did with Richard Burgeon this week. You certainly couldn’t accuse her of bias, she does it to all sides.
