The BBC Newsline weather team still update the locations on their maps each day, mentioning villages and townloads at the expense of the large towns and cities. They usually end up featuring more locations across the province (Cavan, Donegal and Monaghan included) in one week than Frank the Plank's Weather Watching Camera does in the space of a year, or two, or three...

Is it my imagination, or have the BBC changed something about the weather pres studio in the last week or so ?

The presenters seem to be stood closer to the camera, and there's a subtle difference in the depth of field, or is there ! ? Confused

I think they have - the keying isn't very good at all and the presenter doesn't look as well lit as before.

Good, it's not my imagination then !!

BTW, what's the plan for BBC Weather, are they moving to NBH with news ?

I'd imagine they would, in order to keep forecasts on the 1, 5, 6, and 10 in studio. This would mean that World news weather would stay behind until the news channel moved in.

Yep - they're on the level above the newsroom on the right as you look out of the back of Studio E.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this!

He's been doing South East Today weather forecasts for a few months now - presumably that's what he means. Though he's not phrasing it to sound like he's doing a worse job than before!

They are directly 180 degrees from the back of studio E. (with 30 degree variations depending on which of the three presentation areas are available.) Final migration from W12 is March although it begins in January.

Sarah Keith Lucas being interviewed by BBC WM's Mollie Green this morning.

Is she or any of her colleagues making similar appearances on other Beeb locals?

Looks like Wm is using the Nottingham weather hub this morning as Kaye Forster did the weather too.
(Normally Saturday brekky weather is read by the presenter.)

He has been on South East Today as an employee of the BBC, not the Met Office. He is returning to the Met office and the national broadcasts.

I'm surprised - think he's a bit of a liability personally.

Nice to see Ben Rich being used over the weekend on the News Channel. (Thought he'd gone to BBC World?)

Wonder if the standard of conversation in London is more entertaining than BBC Birmingham on a Saturday morning?

Is he the bloke who did the weather on Breakfast on Sat & Sun this week? I wondered who it was.

Sarah Keith Lucas did a forecast on R1 Newsbeat on Friday due to the bad weather. She over did the 'R1' delivery a tad, making it sound more like a forecast for Newsround than Newsbeat.
