Beginning on 15 August, TVB in Hong Kong will turn its J5 channel into a business news channel (the channel's Chinese name will also change), which the company advertises as the first and only free-to-air business channel in Hong Kong. I wonder what will happen to the Putonghua (Mandarin) news bulletin (which moved from TVB Pearl to J5 last year), though.

On the same day, TVB iNews on DTT will also be replaced. But I wonder if the change will also affect the TVB News channel available on Now TV and broadcast outside Hong Kong. Will the interactive TV feature on DTT iNews remain even after the change?
(I noticed that TVB iNews was on MyTV Super OTT television which replaced TVB's now defunct satellite TV service, TVB Network Vision, but not the TVB News channel. So I thought there would be something.)

I don't know what happened to the TVB News Channel on PCCW's Now TV IPTV service, though. (Yeah, I know iNews was largely a simulcast of TVB News Channel with minor variation, but still...)


Apparently, TVB News Channel on Now TV was not rebranded at all. (Video from 21 September 2017)

And still on Россия 1, I'm happy to have found this morning a video of Хәбәрҙәр, the regional newscast for Bashkortostan in the Bashkir language.

Since the original Вести intro is very centered on the word "Вести", well, I guess they tried to recreate approximately the same thing, in-house, for the word "Хәбәрҙәр".

Hong Kong's now News Channel marked its 10th anniversary by launching new titles and graphics. New ticker/ DOG/clock layout and a much-needed upgrade to native HD, however, are still yet to come...

Here's the matching intro for TV Avisen's Sunday night news magazine: 21 Søndag . The one thing that bugs me is the use of the old typeface when the show title flashes across the studio screen at 21:00!

Today is another big day for Israeli television: after the shutdown of the IBA and the launch of KAN and KAN 11, the commercial channels are also going through changes:
The Second Channel was split into Keshet 12 and Reshet 13 (Keshet and Reshet were both the concessionaires of the Second Channel) and Channel 10 moved to channel 14 and changed its name to "Eser" ("עשר", the word "Ten" in Hebrew), with a slogan that translates to "Ten is 14". All three channels also went HD with the move.

To coincide with this occasion, The News Company (a Keshet-Reshet joint venture which produced the Second Channel's newscasts and will continue to produce the bulletins simulcast on Keshet 12 and Reshet 13) and Eser decided to relaunch their newscasts.
