There's just been a report about the shooting of the new series of Barbera on Central News East. It showed a lot of stuff inside Carlton Nottingham's studios, etc - and showed a great flooded set that is used in the last episode.

I'm guessing there will be an extended report at six - so tune in if you're interested. And forget the quality of the programme it's reporting on! Smile

There will be a report at the end of tonight's Central News at Six with Marie Ashby and Owen Thomas about this.

Filming is ongoing at Carlton Studios for the final series of Barbara.

Seeing the sets also breaks the illusion when watching that there is a studio audience- of course there isn't one!

I just guessed that the action/effect sequences were done without the audience, and shown on monitors to get the laugh track - and the majority of it was done live in front of an audience. Is it all done without an audience then?

I have to say, the flooded set looked very good. Worth watching Barbera for! Smile

Actually I did find Barbara really quite amusing. One of ITV's better attempts at sitcom.

Barbara is filmed in front of an audience but the footage for the news was filmed during their final rehearsal on set on Saturday.

I doubt they'll film all that water stuff in front of an audience... will they? If they did it would be bloody impressive!

Dammit! Sad

I suppose if I'm going to slag off sitcoms, I should learn to spell them correctly...

Is this why Sherrie Hewson suddenly left Crossroads then?

I wondered where she'd gone ? How did they write her out, did she just disappear overnight ?
