BBC One Christmas Ident 2016 Speculation

Roll on the idents going live so that this thread can locked and forgot about! It's almost as ridiculous as the GMTV/Daybreak/Good Morning Britain threads.

I would imagine it'll either be before Strictly (7:20pm) or Planet Earth II (8pm).

Yet again. Their adaptation of the old 2 idents is better than network's too. They should put whoever's in charge of NI pres in charge of network pres.

It seems an odd day to launch the idents. BBC2 have Sport on all day and all evening and tomorrow night is a documentary about the events leading up to the death of Mark Duggan.

I would say the original plan was to launch on 1st December (and would explain the cast's tweets), but when the high ratings for Planet Earth II were revealed, they decided that just before the first episode of December broadcasts would be a better time to gain more publicity.

As far as I know, it's, just trailers so far, and that was probably for a programme they didn't make a non-Christmas version of the trailer for. I'd expect it to launch before the second snooker session at 7pm, or the FA Cup highlights at 6pm. The snooker is nearly five hours long so if they don't do it by then they might as well wait until tomorrow!
