Yes, News 24 have business updates twice an hour every hour, and even sometimes have a short update during the night from Patrick O'Connell in New York! They also have World Business Report at 0030, 0230, 0345, 0530, and Business Today at 2030 with Nils Blythe. BBC World is the best for the business news, they have about 12 WBRs every day, as well as a 5 min update during BBC World News! On a presentation front, I think News 24 should have a Business sting, as BBC World's works very well, and looks professional.

Yeah so true Rob.

I don't want to be the one who starts another BBC News debate etc, but to do with business bullitins why do they not have them on the BBC National/Regional bullitins on BBC One?  They're on Breakfast, but that's it!  I would like to see some sort of Business goings on, on BBC national news e.g. the markers or currencies!  I like to keep up to date you see Very Happy   Anyone else agree?  I suppose the same applies to ITN on ITV!

Yeah, you've got a point there Gary. I think BBC ONE News bulletins try to incorporate the business within the news, as you regularly get the business presenters in the studio standing at the plasma screen talking you through graphics and figures, but it would be nice to see the markets and currencies as they do on the rolling news channels. I mean the mainstream news have sport on a Friday and at weekends, with a separate presenter, so why not a business one? I noticed a couple of weeks ago, when there was a big business news story, they had Manisha Tank (who was on duty on BBC World at the time) in the BBC ONE studio with Huw Edwards - she appeared shortly after again on BBC World.

I'm sure I remember Buerk on the 10 a few weeks back saying 'and now for the days main business stories' - it might have been on the day that Captain Beckam signed an advertising deal with M&S? Is this a regular thing or just a one off (business news on the 10, not the Beckam/M&S thing)?

Yeah, they try to incorporate/merge the business news into the rest of the news, so its not separate. The only BBC ONE programme which has the stock markets on is Breakfast when they go to Declan at the London Stock Exchange. The World Today go live to Julia Caesar at the Stock Exchange as well. the BBC News at One have quite a bit of business news actually!

BBC News 24 doesn't have business twice an hour, every hour.

They have it twice an hour in Breakfast (until 8am isn't it - or is it till the end?)

Then from 0900-1900 it's twice an hour and after that the presenters do the 'Late Market's once an hour. Nils does Business Today at 20.30 but after that until 0030, there's no business news itself in a 'business slot'. Then after WBR at 0030, the other editions are just repeats of the 0030 showing!

I have to say that if News 24 had the stings of World and the vamps, headline beds, titles etc it would be much better. Those titles and the 'elephant' really does my head in! What a waste - couldn't they just get rid of the 'World' and put 'News 24' on it and use it? Answer: Yes, but they won't!

The first hour of BBC Breakfast News used to be dedicated to business news. 'Business Breakfast'. They should at least bring some of that back

But back to Sky News! Yes there should be the 8:30pm Business Tonight programme back. I don't know about Bloomberg, but by the time most people get home, CNBC has gone into American mode and totally forgotten whats happened in Europe that day.

Yes they did do this - had the main financial stories done as oovs in place of the usual 2 or 3 brief updates in the middle of the programme. I think they were thinking of ways to change the ten and I'm sure one of the ideas was to include a wrap of the days main business stories - maybe they were trying it out... Never seen it since though!

I take it that Michael Wilson used to present Business tonight on sky news or was it somebody else.

Its only recently that the BBC have pushed forward there Business News coverage. For a long time, they where the laughing stock of 'the square mile' because there business coverge was so poor. Thats why they employed Geoff Randell, who was there biggest critique. Randell was formally the editor of sunday business magazine...(I Think)

There's very little point in having business news on any of the daytime bulletins on BBC1 or ITV1.

Have a wander around somewhere like Lloyds of London or one of the many stockbroker offices in The City. There are big screens up all over their offices and you get either Bloomberg, CNBC or Sky News on. Nothing else.

There's absolutely no point putting on business news on a bulletin that no business people are going to be watching.

Sky's business unit - I don't think it's all gone - has been around for a few years now and the Money and Business Report programmes were taken off air when the relaunch came. It was an odd move but look what's happening in the US. CNN's long running Moneyline programme is being hammered by its CNBC competition - Business Centre.

News 24 tried to cash in on Sky's removal of business programmes with the creation of Business Today. Sadly, the programme is utter **** and gets an average of about 3 viewers.

And that's the gallery! Lol! It is rubbish I agree but the headline bed is great! What I don't understand is that News 24 promotes these segments as programmes but they're not are they?

If they were they'd have their own titles, set (like the differences between the Reporters set and BBC World News), start at the correct time, not 'hand back to the presenter' for the headlines without having a sting out/in - and be, in one word, good!

Sort it out N24!

Yeah, I must agree, the programme is not very good, but the music is fab, especially that vamp!
