It was only a matter of time after Strictly. He’s going on to big things.

They must be looking for new presenters at this point, considering they’ve gone from having 5 (and Hacker) only two years ago to now only having 2 (and Hacker). Maybe they could share some presenters between CBBC and CBeebies, considering the commissioning page says that they want to start bridging the gap between the two channels, as well as the fact that the target audience for CBBC appears to be distinctly aiming at the lower end of the audience at the moment.

They should just do castings for new presenters or something... They really so low on presenters, the continuity presenters are hosting other shows.. (Joe Tasker with SMU) what happened to Lauren? I know Katie went to Radio 1.

Lauren does Capital Early Breakfast, so those hours in London & CBBC HQ in Manchester in the afternoon don’t quite work!

She also hosts “Dog Ate My Homework”.

I still can’t get over the fact that the Love Island host was also hosting a cbbc show for 8 year olds at the same time.

He doesn’t host Love Island.

I don't see the problem with that myself. At the time, he was only just making the move from CBBC to more mainstream television, and it's not like he was actively talking about Love Island on The Dog Ate My Homework .

He also only provides the voiceover so unless you saw the credits you wouldn't necessarily have realised it was the same person. When LI started the voice role wasn't publicised very heavily, it's only because he's since become synonymous with the role that it's become a bigger deal - similarly to what happened with Marcus Bentley on Big Brother or Peter Dickson on X Factor .

EDIT - DeMarkay beat me to it clarifying he's not the host of LI.

Plenty of kids' authors also have grown-up careers as well, like David Baddiel and Charlie Higson. All the Play School presenters used to have adult careers as well, I think it was Derek Griffiths who remembered playing a murderer on stage one night and then going to do Play School the next morning.

There's probably been more stand-ups and comedy writers doing shows for CBBC than BBC1 in recent years.

They'll manage, I'm sure. The continuity presenters have always done other shows, it's not a full-time job. Andy Crane was presenting Top of the Pops thirty years ago. And when Children's ITV started, the presenters from other shows did the continuity.

Indeed I remember Madonna plugging her kids book on Blue Peter and receiving a gold Blue Peter badge. Of course her previous book was called "Sex" which was effectively a photo book of porn released to coincide with her album "Erotica"!

BP had Dudley Moore on as a guest in the early 90s (promoting his Oscar’s Orchestra show). I didn’t seek out the Derek and Clive LPs as a result.

Is there a reason why CBBC are having the halfterm schedule run for two weeks?
