At the end of Test Match Special, Radio 4 played Soul Limbo, the old BBC cricket theme. I hadn't heard it on the BBC since the cricket went to Channel 4. I thought I'd ask the forum's cricket fan(s) and music fans which is the best cricket theme on TV, do they miss Soul Limbo or prefer Mambo No 5 or even the trance music on Sky

Yes I still like the BBC Cricket music, but the Sky Sports trance music is definitely not bad either, the music is appropriate for Sky Sports international coverage of cricket.

Soul Calypso is definately the best cricket music, the others don't compare. Mambo no5? Poor. Trance? Even poorer.

Err, actually it's Soul Limbo - by Booker T. & the MGs

The trance music is quite good with a surround amp! Wink

The trance tune in question is Matt Darey's "Beautiful"

Question for you all - What was the name of the 1995 dance/jungle hit that sampled Booker T & the MGs "Soul Limbo", aka the BBC cricket theme?

I know it already, just testing Smile
