Seeing that reminds me that this wouldn't be new - Fox & Friends does this on the FNC.

On Scotland Today in the 90's they used to have 4 presenters (2 newsreaders, 1 sports presenter and 1 weather presenter) all round the desk, it looked very inviting. Maybe it could be tried out on another programme?

I bet Emily Maitlis would be perfect to present that, she somehow has the resemblance of a witch.

I always like watching threesomes.

Maybe one day you will be invited to be part of a threesome. Could end up being a bit messy not knowing who's turn it is next.

The set is very white.

It's not like there'd be any visible stains.

Might as well call it "BBC RI:SE 24"
- I think they should stick to 2, but make the set a bit creamy'er and revert to the orange 24 on the graphic.

I think that was Tom's plan.

Looks like a cosy tea-party to me. I think three presenters at a time is too annoying, especially for the older viewer. And it makes News 24 actually looks a little dull and entertaining.

i thought the idea was for it to be entertaining as well as informative

Perhaps a new studio might work, with more upbeat feel to it, news reported straight to the point... may attract viewers...

Yes, I am sure building a new studio (I assume you actually mean 'set') would be top of the priority list, given that they have just spent a fortune on the latest one.

And didn't News 24 used to have three presenters on some bulletins back in the early days?

Heres a few suggestions:

Arrow Have presenters doing shifts as single and double
e.g. 9am - 12pm - Peter Sissons & Female Breakfast Presenter of the day
12pm - 3pm - Peter Sissons & Maxine Mawhinney
3pm - 6pm - Maxine Mawhinney & Matthew Amroliwala
6pm - 9pm - Matthew Amroliwala & Jane Hill
9pm - 12am - Jane Hill & Jon Sopel
Midnight - 1am - Jon Sopel
1am - 5am - Alastair Yates

All presenters would do at least four hours...............unless big news breaks and a more experienced journalist or someone from BBC One news comes on to present it.

Bearing in mind that it is just an example

Arrow Bring the weather into the studio and bring the presenter and sport presenter closer to the desk before their forecast/bulletin and then walk over to the little stage area like Nick Higham does sometimes on his FactFile..........this would allow for a bit more banter between the presenters as BBC News 24 presenters have been criticised for being too "wooden" in the past

(This was seen on Christmas Day when Carol Kirkwood did the weather and Bill presented Breakfast............lots of banter and friendly humour)

Would these two suggestions work, maybe some of our experts could give an opinion.

This would also give the channel a feel of everything under one roof.

I'd like the overlapping shifts idea.

The problem with Carol's weather on Christmas was the fact it was too small and they had to fade between her and the graphics.

Maybe if they did the weather in studio at .30 using a closeup and maybe just making the screen blue and CSOing it (like Look North NE) and then going straight to sting with no break.
