Piers Morgan to leave GMB

I'm quite surprised no one's mentioned Dan Walker.

We have! Some of his tweets to Morgan were posted a few pages back. He and Morgan always had a lot of "banter" about ratings of their programmes.

Aimee Vivian on Capital just now said Anne-Marie started following ITV around the same time it was announced Piers was leaving. They're running with a Susanna and Anne-Marie pairing theory.

GMB beating Breakfast is a pyrrhic victory. Looks good for Piers’ ego but it came at a cost.

I know I posted some of his tweets! I mean as a credible replacement for Piers on GMB!

I suspect that in the next 2-3 weeks until the Easter Holidays it will probably just be Susanna & the Newsreader, then over Easter it will be usual school holiday presenters (Ben, Kate, Charlotte Adil Ray or Alex) and I would think that when Susanna returns from half term will probably be when/if we get a more long term interim presenter with Susanna whilst ITV properly chooses Piers' replacement, whomever it may be

I can't 'quite' see that happening, unless they dangled main ITV Football presenter in the deal as well.

Plus, he has a young family so would he want to uproot them from the Sheffield area?

Only if they are determined to turn GMB into an ultimate snoozefest.

They will take time before making a decision both about the direction of the programme going forwards, and subsequently what presenting style they want. I wouldn't expect a permanent replacement until September. Although surely they will have thought about who would replace Piers before now ?

Dan living in Sheffield is one of the reasons he won’t go to GMB plus with no disrespect, they already have someone similar in Ben.

The whole boasting about ratings after his departure really is something you'd expect to hear from Trump. Ironic considering how critical Piers was of him by the end of his presidency, now he seems to be unintentionally mimicking him.

Those complaining about Ben & Kate would be begging them back after 6 and a half hours of Dermot & Alison.
