Thought David did ok for his first appearance - we can hardly complain about wooden-ness on a first show, I'd be like a rabbit in headlights! Laughing

It's not his first appearance, he has done a few lunchtime, and a couple of late bulitins, and he was wooden then.

I used to be able to get STV here in Dumfries, but it has long since disappeared. You people are lucky further north. In Dumfries we do not get BBC 2 Scotland, but we get NE and Cumbria. And the BBC 1 signal is stronger for NE and Cumbria rather than Scotland.

That's bizarre - I have friends in Cockermouth (West Cumbria) who pick up a stronger signal from BBC1&2 Scotland than from NE&C!

Lucky them. Apparently it's because the BBC does not put out a strong enough signal in SW Scotland, and they will not invest in a new transmitter because TV will go digital in a few years, and so it would be a waste of money. Occasionally the signal is so poor on analogue TV I have to watch NE and Cumbria for the BBC News.

STV started in the late fifties, a few years before Grampian so lots of people (certainly as far north as Arbroath) watched Scottish and stayed with it. A lot of people thought STV was much better than Grampian, and it was quite true.

I have just being watching BBC Newsline and BBC Wales Today and I have realised how crap BBC Reporting Scotlands set is and I hope this new set will be good. Otherwise it will be left behind the rest of the BBC Regions.

Who's this new geezer RP have. David Henderson or something. He's like that stale bit of bread I have in my fridge... he seemed so out of place at 18.30 the other day.

He's the new stand-in for David Robertson.

Is he the younger guy?

Think I might have noticed him on the lunchtime edition.
