BBC World decided not to pidle in from Talking Movies - first mention was with Adrian Finighan at 22.00. What are the US domestic channels doing right now?

It was very sad news when it came, but it had been on the cards for a while - he suffered with Alzheimer's disease for about ten years. Very sad indeed.

Just had a look at CNN International - it seems they're pooling their resources by taking CNN US. Never seen it before, but I'm sure it's not CNNI - different graphics, and there's a clock in the corner.

Yeah I posted that above. I like the look of CNN US. The Breaking News strap looks good.

ABC, CBS, and CNN are still showing coverage of his death. Fox and NBC are showing sporting events. The commentators are acknowledging Reagan's passing.

TBH, if they've done the announcement, and an obiturary report then I think thats all they should do in this instance. Better than to have some crass studio analysis on the subject

Sorry about that - hadn't seen your post at the bottom of page one there.

Just seeing those captures above - I really don't like the use of "breaking news" when there is news of a death. It just doesn't feel right. I certainly think Fox News is being insensitive by using "alert" - it's not really an alert is it?

Surprisingly, BBC World have finished their news bulletin now - it was only scheduled to be a summary this hour, but they started it with a headline sequence presumably because of this news. Usually when there is a death, they extend their coverage a little. I suppose, though, that there isn't a great deal to say, as he didn't die in tragic circumstances, thankfully.

Sky News blocking out the Fox News logo. And leaving their annoying BN strap over the top of Fox's straps.
