OK so it wasn't exactly a ratings grabber but now that this twice-daily charity information slot has ended, what next? Local advertising?

Have Grampian done the same with their charity slot, and do other ITV regions also have this?

Well in Yorkshire we still have 'Link' which is like a community charity slot, usually on during daytime.

central still do 'business breaks' (free adversts for small businesses on certain schemes - princes trust etc) and 'lifeline' (anna dawson (from central south) does awareness type slots about diseases etc. like head lice, shingles, migrane), they also have a religious filler called 'just a moment' where priests/rabbis/religious leaders talk about ... stuff.

cant say central have ever done charity one, lifeline or just a moment goes-out just before CITV, business breaks goes out some nights at 6:15.

In Wales we have the community message (not quite sure if it's the same thing) and that's still going....Very Happy

I must admit I've noticed that 3 minutes has been missing lately on Meridian - this could be because simular features are now part of Freescreen overnight. We got two ex-GMTV fun in the sun reports after Shortland Street (returned after many viewer complaints)

Are/were Scottish and Grampian's Action programmes linked in any way in a network with those on Scottish ILR stations.

These action porgrammes serve a very good purpose and highlight all the good voluntary/charity work that goes on in your local community.

To get rid of this Action 2001 on Scottish is totally senseless.

Again, another example of the local scheduling being corroded to meet one universal schedule on ITV 1.

As mentioned above, YTV have 'Community Link' which is a free 30sec advert for an organisation (Such as the Huddersfield Over 60s club or the Selby Volunteers minibus scheme etc)

There's also 'Its Your Call' at 3.20pm every weekday, which includes a longer film of this week's organisation, plus some Crimestoppers appeals

Yes, Community Link, which Tyne Tees also have.

And in case you were wondering, it was YTV who nicked the name (and sting) from Tyne Tees, who now use a totally different graphic whilst YTV still plod along with the 1993 version. Bless.
