Have wondered why Sky One was never allocated "100" ?
Suspect because the EPG and positioning within it is regulated by Ofcom. Putting Sky One before BBC One would cause questions to be asked. The first 5 slots in the EPG on all platforms are kind of reserved for BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Channel Four and Channel 5. Even when ITV weren't on satellite, 103 on the Sky EPG pointed you to terrestrial rather than having an alternative channel.
Virgin Media use the 100 slot on their EPG, although it's just a barker for their on demand service, so I suppose that doesn't really count as a channel.
The odd thing about that is, didn't they have to move it to 108 or something similar because of the regulations about BBC One being the first channel as mentioned previously in this thread (with regards to Sky1)? But they've moved it back since.
Of course, channel 0 has always been the live events channel, but they had no problems with that!

Sky used to call it Skysports.comtv then reverted back to Sky Sports News. I can imagine that eventually, it'll go back to Sky Sports News. I don't really see the point of the HQ, everyone will probably still refer to it as Sky Sports News.
NB
No, it would have the News HQ bit in blue, not red.
And personally, I think the move to 401, bumping the other Sky Sports channels down one, is stupid. All it'll do is confuse people. People will end up tuning into Sky Sports 2 for an event that's live on Sky Sports 3, and then wondering if the previous programme overran or something. At the moment, Sky Sports 1 is on 401, Sky Sports 2 on 402. Now it'll be Sky Sports 1 on channel 402, which doesn't make as much sense. Sky Sports 1 is the flagship Sky Sports channel and really should be first in the Sports section of the EPG.
I really don't get what the major issue is over what position a channel is on the EPG. Surely if you want to watch something on Sky Sports 3 and put Sky Sports 2 on instead because of the changes, you will just go up a channel when you see it says 'Sky Sports 2'.
If a HD logo is realased it would probably look something like this: http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p794/edmundhobbs/Sky-Sports-News-HQ-HD-logo_zpsee01b984.png

Of course you're correct but I think the problem most people have is it just goes against any logic to not stick it on 400 and not have to move any of the channels. Of course it may be the case they don't want people to miss the channel who go straight to 401 but if you want to change things sometimes you've got to work through things like that.
And the name is still mad, like calling Sky News, 'Sky News Room'. It's just pointless branding baggage that doesn't serve any slight purpose.

Nothing major, just that it looks silly and is probably designed (initially at least) to catch people looking for Sky Sports 1 who, as you say, will most likely respond by being mildly narked before pushing channel up.
The whole thing's just silly really.

Who, exactly, will equate headquarters to high definition? Unless they think it means High Quality which no broadcaster or TV manufacturer has used...
A lot of people will probably just think that HQ means the same as HD.
