Incidentally, wasn't that sport studio space originally going to be the breakfast studio in Salford anyway, but sunrise and security concerns led to them choosing the studio space they ended up in?
Story I heard (the exact source has evaporated in the mists of time) was that as a delegation was looking at the space - which would have had a clearer view to the windows to the plaza - to site the Breakfast studio/presentation area was planned to be, a couple of the local 'wildlife' saw what was going on and started mooning through the windows. Hence the plan to have a windowless studio for Breakfast and a reconfigure of the placement of the BBC Sports news studio.
How true that actually was, I can't say - but it makes for an amuzing story.
However, given that area is on the ground floor, and there are other buildings that have sprung up on the sides of the Manchester ship canal, I can't see low sun glare would be much of an issue.
