London Live will be showing children's programmes from next week, as part of a new strand called "Bounce", on air 6am-9am. So no chance of any news or travel in the morning...

There have been so many mornings recently, even today with the Camden fire, when there have been massive stories in London, ones that often lead national news bulletins, and London Live is unable and unwilling to provide the vital information that they are meant to be providing, would be invaluable to the audience and could even bring them a larger one. again, it's not a news service, it's a news disservice. The Pride stuff looked good though but again, it's a lack of consistent commitment and quality that audiences have every right to expect.

I don't see the point the in rivalling what's already there from national broadcasters at that time in the morning. They could be doing some thing for a lot less money that's a lot more relevant to Londoners going on the commute and no one else is doing.

We know they've had a breakfast show before but it was expensive to do and lacked the continuous information on the traffic that's the USP of the channel.

At this rate LL may as well get a national carriage on Sky and be a national channel. Apart from the News block in the evening what purpose outside events like Pride is it serving at a local level?

It would have been no more expensive than supplying the news at any other time of day. Perhaps they could spend less on some of their other in house shows and more on news. In answer to your question regarding what purpose outside events like Pride is it serving at a local level? The answer it nothing. It continues to provide little to no value at a local level at all which partly explains why the average viewer still watches for just 1 minute per week. There's little to nothing there for them of interest or value.

According to the Broadcast article Bounce won't air on Sundays (don't know why) and if it's a success they'll air it between 4:30-6 each weekday. They're also planning a Bounce app for 2018.

Ideas for original Bounce programming.

Counting with Aunty Alex - In this episode, we look at how Two Beards wasted loads of money on a tv channel.
Bedtime stories with Anthony Baxter - The newsreader will send you kids to sleep with the latest news.
Play TV - How a group of adults played at being tv executives and blew it, so resort to kids tv instead.
Hide and Seek - Can you (or Ofcom) find the missing news hours?

At least childrens content is vaguely PSB but what would benefit local channels is having a strand like this which can air across multiple local channels, although whether it would get an audience is probably debateable.

Is Bostin Bear in the schedule along with the dire US imports?
