You can tell World News very rarely seems to break important stories in its generic 30 minute bulletins, unlike the News Channel. The whole 1am news broadcast has made no reference to the news breaking out of Glasgow tonight, in that the Mackintosh Building has caught fire again. Even tweeted by BBCBreaking, but not getting the Breaking treatment in the ticker or by the presenter. Maybe it’ll get mentioned in the NC opt out.

It got a mention (with pictures) in news in brief.

I just watched it back, but i never saw a reference in the news in brief, mostly just about the middle east. Confused

Perhaps it wasn’t news in brief but there was definitely an out-of-vision featuring a clip of the fire.

Unless tiredness has taken its hold on me!

The story about the Mackintosh building in Glasgow got a mention in the headlines from the last TOTH in E.

Seems to be an issue with the lower thirds showing that story along with the U.S. Child Migrants.

Surprised that they used Studio E instead of Studio D during C outages.... In the past WN often use Studio D during Studio C outages in overnights...

Looks better then Studio C, maybe put BBC World News in there, and let BBC News into Studio C.

They done a better job then when Bbc News are in there, that London backdrop actually looks good in there.

I checked back again, it wasn't in the news in brief section, but did appear at 01:17

Why? Because you prefer it?

Do you have an objective reason to want this?

But then they wouldn’t be able to change the colours on the lightboxes (I kid, I kid).

On a serious note, I think Studio C works better for the different programmes - the backdrop for Business Live, Newsday etc

Because of that Global Minds things they did years ago, now BBC World News will never be in a live newsroom background again thanks to a couple of people who thought seeing a fake backdrop of London was more appropriate.
