The number will just be a pay as you go SIM that's been removed from the phone now. Wonder how many texts and voicemails it has now though!!

PAYG Numbers get repurposed don't they if they're inactive for a few months?

If the person who gets that number still has access to the voicemail that'll be interesting.

Voicemail doesn't hang around that long and even if it did it would probably get wiped when the number is reissued anyway.

Whatever you may think of Leslie Grantham in his second stint at EastEnders, he was one of the best soap actors of all time. 30.6m saw him and Anita Dobson as Den gave Angie her divorce papers in 1986, which if you think about it, EE was still a new soap at the time.

The writing failed him during his second stint. It wasn't the best era for the soap.

"Happy Christmas, Ange."

I don't think it'll ever happen again that a major soap event will attract as many as 30 million viewers. The Hotten Bypass crash on Emmerdale - winner of the one-off Greatest Moment award at this year's British Soap Awards - didn't even attract half as many, did it?
