All of the post-September 89 episodes on the DVDs (bar the 20th September one, which is a Granada Plus edit) have the generic endcap on, and they always leave in what's on the master tape. The next one on the DVD that's going to be shown on ITV3 is the 8th November one, which will be on ITV3 on Friday, so we'll have to see what they show there.
Also interested to see how they handle the scene I posted a while back on the 8th December episode where there's creases and dropouts across the screen. They'll most likely just cut it out, it's not a scene vital to the plot. One thing I did notice though is the strange sounds on that scene I thought were part of the tape damage were on some scenes on both ITV3 episodes today and I think are actually meant to be the sounds from the building site being muffled by the walls and windows of the houses.

Weatherfield Police on tonight's episode- nice to see that one area of Manchester gets its own force when the rest of the country usually have a county wide force.
Better than Emmerdale which only has a "Yorkshire Police", one force for all 4 counties.

Well, Scotland now has one force across the whole nation!
I’ve always assumed Weatherfield was part of Salford, so not even a city - so that’s a very small area to have its own police force.

And always seems to have one cocky officer.
I am enjoying watching these earlier editions. The pace is just right and the writing seems to be better.
My Nan's only just discovered them as well. I asked her which she prefers, these older ones or current Corrie. She said she prefers the older one's as there's much more going on in these one's.

By "cocky", you mean "corrupt, and with history with at least one of the main characters".

Which is the reason for not using the name of the real police force, so they are not libeling or bringing them into disrepute if they run stories concerning corrupt officers or where the police fail in some way.
Not sure how EastEnders handle that, I assume it would challenge the credibility not to refer to the Met?

EastEnders has its own police station set, which clearly says “Metropolitan Police”. So did The Bill, of course. So I assume Corrie could use GMP should they want to.
But if keeping it fictitious is easier, why not something like “North West Police” or “Manchester and District Constabulary” or similar?
Weatherfield is too small to have its own police force, and too big to have just one Co-op! These finer details matter!!

Previous incarnations of Weatherfield Police Station have had Greater Manchester Police branding. (The original Police station in the 60s was on Tile Street and called Tile Street Police Station).
The new station only refers to "Weatherfield Police", even on the badge logo which should say Greater Manchester Police.
Perhaps it's something to do with the Bethany Platt grooming storyline in which the police were heavily involved.
