The idea of turning Gary into this unnecessary super villian out of nowhere just highlights the issues with the show at the moment. That's just come out of nowhere and really doesn't seem to be genuine character development, and it's a crap storyline to boot. They might have got away with it with the likes of Nick or David, or perhaps Adam, but with Gary it just comes across as desperate and unnecessary.
I think actually it would have worked much better for the show using one of the oldies - Rita turning evil in her old age and not giving two **** would probably be quite funny.

Some of the quotes about the supervillain were comedy gold mind. You had Iain Macleod saying the transformation of this character (who we now know is Gary) to supervillain would be like the Godfather and also saying the villain would be more like Mike Baldwin.
Think most would agree this story couldn't hold a candle to the Godfather and Gary is nothing like Mike Baldwin at all.
We've had a load of Granada Plus edits over the last week now, 4 in a row now, and a couple of others in the days before that. I'll be glad once we hit ealy 1994 and they're finally gone.
Is it me or has Number 3 now got a window above the new staircase that has now been moved around a bit? it's facing the street though so that would be a window on the front of the house. I'm sure these people at Corrie don't care if it makes sense when it comes to redoing sets

October 11 and 14 episodes are pre-empted for football, and they haven't been rescheduled, so it's a week between episodes. Apparently some fans have been turning the air blue in anger...
I know to people who don't watch it, this probably seems like nothing at all, but for people who do watch it religiously, and are used to getting 'their fix' thrice a week, to have a full seven-day gap between episodes will seem like a heck of a long time.
I wonder when there was last such a long time between episodes, as usually, in cases like this, they'd stick one on on a Sunday night for an hour (or something like this) in order to lessen the break.

I certainly don’t remember a time with a week-long gap. Could we be going as far back as the strike?
