The 1970 episode I believe hadn't been repeated or on video/dvd so it was great to see that episode. IThe two episodes from 1980 that will air from 10pm tonight have I think only been screened on Granada Plus since the original transmission.

As long as it's not the edited Granada Plus copies they use.

Odd moment just now in one of the 1980 episodes when a close up of Emily Bishop reading a letter looked like it was shot on film, in the middle of an indoor videotaped sequence.

You certainly got different camera work back then, when they needed a close up of that letter, the camera just sharply zoomed into it.

Also that long pause on the box of Milk Tray was almost product placement!

Would they really have used ‘Granada Colour Production’ front and end caps in 1980?

Granada captions kept the Colour Production legend until 1985.

Thames hung onto theirs until August 1989 - almost 20 years after they commenced colour transmissions.

Yes, they were used until the end of 1985.

Most ITV companies kept their "colour" endcaps well into the 80s. Border and Thames were still using theirs until the introduction of the ITV generic look in 1989.

It was a reused shot from the beginning of the episode where Emily reads the letter in the pet shop. The sequence at the beginning was on film.

I see from last night’s second episode on ITV3 that YTV announcer Paul Lally played the Doctor attending to Stan Ogden’s supposed beer allergy.

And we've just seen Tyne Tees announcer Bill Steel in the 1997 episode, I wonder how many other ITV announcers appeared? A shame Redvers Kyle never made a cameo Razz

I knew I recognised the voice from somewhere, I at first thought it was Redvers Kyle so I wasn’t far off

Most of them stayed until they introduced CG idents, right? Was Tyne Tees, who replaced their ident at the end of the 1979 strike, the first to remove COLOUR from the endcap?

I thought the break bumpers featuring old opening credits at the start of every ad break during tonight's episode was a really nice touch.
Being used again tonight. If anybody wants to capture them, this is your chance (it's not too late for +1!)
