- Nothing on TV has excited me since the 2013 BBC News relaunch, and thats 8 years old now...

.............I'll admit that I've never really been someone who watches TV, spending most of my time listening to Radio 4/World Service. BBC World 1997 music was lovely but I feel that if it were still being used you'd all be calling it tired, like David Lowe's pips

I wonder if you are old enough to remember these Radio 4 "jingles" that were on in the late 1970s?

To be fair, Oneness isn't that bad.

I'm about to start a war

I never really liked the 2013 BBC News look

I truly hate the current ITV logo...

I loved the Channel 4 interconnected circles era of branding..

I wish ITN would bring back a real non VR Greenscreen set for the ITV main news broadcasts.
The best one they ever had was the one which made them look like they were in the clock tower of Elizabeth Tower (AKA Big Ben, to those that still incorrectly call it that)

Adrian Chiles hosting Daybreak ver 1.0 was an inspired move (even more so, given the echo chamber the current show finds itself trapped in)

Well of course, what is there not to like?

It should have worked on paper, but somehow it didn't. It was also a shame it spoked the reputation of a great studio too. Such a great view, just not before the sun comes up

Adrian Chiles would be good on GMB. He’s very underrated.

Most people are grumpy or grouchy first thing in the morning - so made sense to have a host of a breakfast programme the same for parts of it. Mrs Lampard provided the light and grinning to Mr Chiles slouchy and downbeat.

The view - Should have been great. Wasn't.
May not have been so bad if the set was turned anti clockwise 90 degrees, so Hungerford Footbridge/Charing Cross rail bridge, the MOD and the HoP and Elizabeth Tower clock was in view - which are always lit up 24 hours a day, unlike what we had - pointing towards the City of London and St Pauls, which was lit up during the winter evenings when London Tonight came from Studio 7 at 6pm, but not when Daybreak was on at 6am.

Seeing as this is a confessions thread.... When I was a kid, I actually thought the News bulletins were presented from Inside Big Ben! Used that as an embarrassing fact for a Zoom quiz last summer, and found out I wasn't the only one in the process!

Anyway, actual TV confessions

I hate when BBC One switches to News Channel coverage overnight, that they crash into the middle of a report. I'd much rather they repeated some stuff upto the next hour to join them at a Countdown, or at the very least, into a restart.

I think if Oneness had music in the background of the idents, as a set, they might just be slightly better than terrible

I want Sally Magnusson to get the Mastermind job purely for family legacy reasons

I miss the News at Six and Evening News being double headed. Feels right for a bulletin at that time to be presented by a duo

I thought the same with the BBC's "On The Record" though it was intended to give that illusion.

I know we are going off topic a tad, but they should have had more of a set in front of the windows during the dark mornings, like they did later on. I do wonder if they had only done minimal rehearsals in the dark by the time of the launch, and only realised it didn’t work too close to launch.

CNN - I preferred a lot more of the 2013 looks that the current on air looks.

- I liked the blue glossy lower thirds, the newer white ones are oversized and boring
- Studio 7 was the best on air look they had, now they constantly make their dayside worse.
- Original New Day was bright and colorful, now it’s harsh and uninviting
- International content was colorful and unique, now everything is blue
- Piers Morgan’s set looked way better than Don Lemon’s
- The blue New York newsroom set was the last good newsroom flash set on air
- Don’t even get me started on how awful of a set weekend Atlanta shows use.

I think I keep tuning in, hoping we’ll see channels (Domestic and International) that respect themselves. Anyone who follows the CNN thread knows we slip further from this every month.
