What the management don't seem to realise is that yesterday's Invicta listener's (when Glen was doing the breakfast programme very successfully) are today's Meridian viewers. At least he's known in the region.

It is a great shame. Chances are discussions and disagreements happened. Its a shame Glen Thompsett is freelance as he's far better than "yuppyfied" Ian Axton. Reporter Jeff Moody would probably also fit the role well.

Ian and Sangeeta cannot do the banter or humourous elements of the programme at all!

It also seems Gemma Humphries has left as Meridian's weather presenter in favour of Simon Parkin. I'm probably wrong about that but she's been on a rather long holiday if you ask me.

I started listening to Invicta FM when Neil Francis opened the Morning Zoo Breakfast Show. Glen must have left early nineties then.

Well I'm glad our "hunchback Hornby" is still working for Meridian. Its a shame he's quit as main presenter, then again I don't think he was comfortable with the role and without Charlotte (who had ironically hosted longer - having been with Geoff Clark) he clearly didn't want to be the leading presenter.

He and Charlotte visited the catering department at my college last year, I knew nothing about it despite them only being on the floor above where I was!

There's definately something sudden and fishy about the situation. I've noticed Mr Thompsett's being doing a lot of the main reporting recently as well. Weathergirl Gemma seems to have "left" as well.

Probably pay cuts? new boss? It could be anything. I shall investigate.

It is at times like this I look to the South region and admire the work of Meridian stalwarts, Fred and Debbie.

As in the Geordie ex- Blue Peter presenter? Shocked That's a bit random! Confused

(Mind you, there's a distinctly Scots-accented reporter on ITV Central News (West) these days, so obviously it's a case of "anything goes" on regional programming nowadays...)
