With all due respect to the regions, tennis coverage was billed to continue until 8.00pm anyway. So even if Murray-Nadal had finished at 7.15pm, tennis could have continued until 8pm on BBC One without the need to keep the regions hanging for a bulletin which may or may not be broadcast.

The tennis was billed to continue until 8.00 on BBC Two , which is where it should have stayed, saving all the confusion for viewers, and the hassle and potential overtime bills in the regions.

Oh, I absolutely agree . . . I just think having decided to keep the tennis on BBC One in its entirety, a firm decision regarding the regional news should have been made earlier.

It was reasonably obvious at 6pm that the match would continue beyond 7pm. So if the BBC were intent on having Murray on BBC One, perhaps they should have switched to BBC Two at 6pm, and then returned to BBC One at 7pm - as was the case last Friday night.

We have a "90 second update", I am assuming the regional news at 20:30 will be promoted by the regional presenters.

edit: just 2 headlines from Suzanne Virdee, to get the message across after the weather.

Network announcer thinks the regional news is on BBC One HD.

Ameilia Reynolds ran out of time on BBC One East to promote the regional news - was a full normal 90 second bulletin content wise. Ameilia ended up just being cut off.

Will be interesting to see if the regional bulletins are double headed or not? I guess some regions may only have the late presenter around, some may have the late presenter and the 90 second presenter and others may have the scheduled presenters still around.

Tonight's My Family is episode 3, which is what should be on this week. So I wonder when last weeks will be broadcast?

Just briefly looking ahead to tomorrow . . . there is British interest in the Boys Singles Final in the form of Liam Broady. The match starts at 1pm on No. 1 Court. Wouldn't it be nice if BBC Two dropped their scheduled film at 12.30pm and opened up for Wimbledon coverage - this avoiding disruption to the Ladies Singles Final build-up on BBC One.

Wishful thinking probably . . . but didn't the BBC cover Laura Robson's girls final live a few years back?

They usually show them on the red button, though I don't know if Freeview has Wimbledon tomorrow afternoon. I think there is quite often British interest in the junior finals - but most of our juniors fail to make any sort of impact when they become seniors.

Freeview has Wimbledon from 15:05 as MotoGP is on from 11:50.

[quote:0499529968="bbcsport" pid="712381"]Today at Wimbledon advertised for 11.20pm tonight on BBC Two - presumably just in a half hour slot between Newsnight and the Women's World Cup highlights scheduled for 11.50pm.

So I think I'm right in saying that's 1/6 now in terms of a full length 8pm transmission.[/quote:0499529968]

It ended up on even later in Northern Ireland due to a late night regional programme that was aired.

In non-Wimbledon related news, Sports Saturday is back on Sky Sports News today after a two year absence. Not sure what the point is as its basically the same as every other Sky Sports News programme except for not having a TOTH headlines round-up.

MotoGP has been bumped from Freeview (it'll be replayed at 9pm) in favour of the Boys Final on 301, and it is also currently on BBC1 too - though will obviously be cut short for the womens final.

I'm not watching in 3D but there appears to be different commentary on the 3D coverage.

I suppose there has to be as the commentators often make reference to people in the crowds, beauty shots etc. which wouldn't make sense if the 3D coverage was showing something else at the time.
