I get the feeling Matt Doran should be there instead of Matho, Matt seems to pop up during the programme most days and is not even the newsreader, anyone know if he will cover Nualas absence?

This is the reason the broadcasting industry is in so much trouble. They don't allow anything time to bed in, before making snap decisions about changes, that may be right, may be wrong, but really, they'll never really know because they do not give anything anytime anymore.

To be fair though it does seem to be a decision met with unanimous approval.

Since the departure of legendary news chief Peter Meakin in late 2012, Seven News has been performing much like the proverbial headless chook. Ratings have sunk heavily under his replacement, who seems consumed with making weird little changes to their bulletins - tinkering around with graphics, format and story selection - which have gone completely unnoticed by the viewing public.

The latest of these happened tonight, with the sudden dumping iconic theme The Mission , which has been in use for some 35 years. It's been replaced with with a bland track likely sourced from a music library which sounds more like a B-grade film score. There's no hook, no relationship with the headline and title sequence, and the climax is decidedly anti-climatic.

No other changes were made to any aspect of the bulletin.

What the??

Sounds like something a small country station would have used in 1974, not 2014!

Wonder how long til they go back to the old theme?

Wouldn't be surprised if it was tomorrow. Twitter has been overwhelmingly negative about the change.

Its seems (watching Mondays broadcasts on youtube) they all have different variations on graphics, Some several versions old compared to others.

& the UK critise the BBC for different titles sequences & theme!

I very glad that Seven have changed from the terrible mix of The Mission they've been using since the 2004 graphic rebranding, but dumping The Mission was a very bad call! There is nothing iconic now. They have returned to low brow bulletin stories which is very disappointing.
