It's a good move. The current look has held up quite well over the past 5 years, and I'm sure they can get another 3-4 years out of the current set.

The globe/map motif was one RTE used for a long time, but hasn't featured since the 1990s. But thankfully it isn't another abstract theme. They haven't updated News Now yet.

After exactly a week after die neue grafiche von Tagesschau (correct grammar?), what will RTÉ show to surprise us?

Nothing along the lines of ARD's superb new set! Just new titles and graphics (along with a rearranged theme music) by the looks of it though I quite like the new logo.

First live bulletin of the day just aired with the old look so it looks like they won't launch till Six One.

I think similar graphics from this new package were used during the State Visit. They looked much cleaner than the arrangement up to now. The new graphics based on these image look good, although it looks like there's a French flag on the Six One title card.

€25,000 for a refresh seems to be good value. Interesting that the 'Evoke' article says that this is for two studios. Maybe the News Now studio is getting a lick of paint as well.

I'm disappointed though that the voiceover is going.

Looks very nice to me - subtle yet effective. I am just glad they did not go back to something resembling the 2006 look.

Reminds me a lot of the 'Night look' on BBC World News.

I really hope that the Weather forecasts get an upgrade, they've been carrying that look for over ten years now.

It's, er, very bright! And white!

Titles aren't much, but the new graphics a lot cleaner. The astons animate which is quite nice.

Music isn't that different. A bit more like the Morning Edition arrangement. Studio doesn't look particularly different either once the close shots start being used.

Oh, and they haven't updated News Now. Yet.

sorry about the quality of some of the caps, the stream was acting up during the titles.

Nice sports results graphics too. Though I'm note sure the need to put three "(L)"s when the Man Utd v Norwich score was displayed.
