Swan and Predator have the ugly larger one, they were the first brought back on Network before someone belatedly realised how massively oversized it was. All the others come with the much neater flag but they haven't bothered to re-edit the aforementioned two.
It's pretty redundant now anyway.

Another thing which I am a little curious about regarding the presentation on Network (and on Wales, come to that) is why they have limited themselves to such a small number of the idents. Am I missing something, or is the process of getting them onto screen simply a case of digging out clean copies and slapping the 50 year logo onto them?
NI, on the other hand, have made a tremendous effort, and have even gone to the trouble of modifying the logo's appearance with some of them to better tailor it to a particular ident. Great attention to detail.

The presentation team were keen to have idents with as much 'live action' as possible, hence using Car, Swan, Woodpecker and the bizarre Paint Pot as the '2' is not static (bar the end of Predator) unlike the other classic 90s idents where the '2' remained in the middle of the screen throughout.
On the subject of the Subtitles graphic - is there any need for this anymore? Didn't the BBC hit 100% subtitling (or thereabouts) some time ago? Anyone who uses the service will surely leave it on continuously, rather than being prompted by the ident at the start of the programme.
On Neon, the 2's moving loads. The best idents IMHO are paint and blade. I think the former would work fine (as it does in NI) as there's lots of movement, just not from the 2, but blade is probably not going to make a come-back.
See this is what happens when modern attitudes about design (which have produced some of the dourest, uninteresting, generic idents in our time) are applied to historical classics.
