Think it would need to be done by ITV Playout to keep the main show HD, and to be resilient. You wouldn't want to feed the main network contribution through each regional centre (many of which are SD) and then back to ITV Playout just to add graphics.

Surely there is a way of sending separate feeds. They air different adverts per region and these are generally in HD.

Playing out different ads is what the playout centres are built for. Adding dynamic content is a different matter

On a different note, it'll be interesting to see how GMB cover the Royal Baby if it's born tomorrow morning. Will Susanna, Ben, Kate or Ranvir be live from the Lindo Wing? Will the entire show come from the Lindo Wing? GMB covered the Paris attacks extremely well, so it'll be interesting to see how they cover another huge breaking news story.

They have Louisa James on standby at the Lindo Wing for the last few days.

I think Louisa James is now on maternity leave, as there was posts on Twittter showing a party for Louisa. It's a huge event, so I doubt very much they would just have one correspondant there anyway.

Why? It will be an inexcusable media fest.

I have absolutely no idea why the media (or some viewers) have this creepy obsession about the birthing activities of complete strangers.

Do they normally loiter outside the maternity wings of their local hospital, or just lick the double yellow lines whenever they walk past? Shocked

I'm more looking forward to Simon McCoy bringing us no news again...

It's a Royal Baby, so like it or not, a future king is being born; there's going to be a fuss.

It's probably a mistake keeping the media out of the 'pens' until Kate is actually in labour. Imagine the stampede of reporters desperate to get the best view!

Well if she's on maternity leave then, it must have been her double that appeared on the screen last week very much claiming that she will be there when the news is announced!

a future king is being born

If I'm right, this baby will not be in a high line to the throne, and neither do we know if its a boy or girl

King or Queen then. Certainly not in any of our lifetimes, but it will be a leader at some point.

I must have missed that then. I'd be incredibly surprised if they just had Louisa there.

Aaron said Louisa is NOW on maternity leave, meaning her last week on screen was last week! Also, the new royal baby will be fourth in line to the throne, surely?

Yes, but only until George has kids of his own.

They couldn't in my case, the Holbeck Hall Hotel was busy falling into the sea on the day I was born. For some reason, Richard Whiteley was more interested in that than my birth.
