I think Moira Stuart is one of the best female news readers Her accent is impeccable, despite the fact that, according to a friend of mine who has worked with BBC News, she speaks with a strong Jamaican accent off screen : Perhaps it is she who does the bum-bums on the drums at the start of the BBC News programmes!

It's got to be Kirsty Young, she's smart, sexy, and above all, drop dead gorgeous! Falling slightly behind her would be the divine Rachel McLovely off ITN, and also ITN's Leyla Daybelge. I'm also partial to a bit of Kay Burley and Natasha Kaplinsky.
Notice how I left out BBC News presenters? That's because I don't like them. They're like teachers, I prefer to be told the news by someone at the same level as me, not someone supposedly above me like most of BBC News presenters (except, of course, Ms McCarthy!) think they are.

No contest in my book. ITN should take a leaf out of the BBC's book and use people with authority, and credibility. Hats off to them for keeping Anna Ford. Long may she stay.!!!

I just don't see why ITN think we want the likes of Mary 'always sounds terribly nervous ' Nightingale.

Yeah, she seems okay from what I've seen of her. I like several of Sky's female presenters - Natasha Kaplinsky is great (why can't my hair ever look that good?), and I also like Anna Botting, a little island of cuteness.
I also like Moira Stewart, probably because I've grown up with her reading the news
