Very apocalyptic.

According to Digiguide, Classic Corrie is apparently coming back to TV screens - on ITV3.

It's to start airing from the 2nd October. A lot of people here will welcome this - it is the first time it has been shown since the launch of ITV3.

Where are there starting from? 70s? 80s? 90s? I'm surprised they're not doing a double bill with Emmerdale.

2 episodes every day at 14:45 & 15:15 (repeated at 06:00 the next day).

The first episode is : The police set Mavis up in a stakeout, and arrest Eddie. Ken tells Deirdre that he would rather remain lovers than get married.

and the second is : Ken Barlow and Mike Baldwin have a fist fight in the Rovers.

Are these selected stand alone episodes rather than showing in order ?

It's either 70s or 80s as far as it is.

I dare say it looks like that ITV is indeed showing the episodes randomly rather than in chronological order.

The first and second episodes listed looks as if it is from the 1980s.

People won't watch episodes every single day just on the off chance that one of the classic episodes or rememberable plot events just happens to occur, hence why soap reruns have all failed and ceased. You'd tune in once for the novelty of seeing the characters but then realise you've just seen 30 mins half way through some minor plots that nobody can remember.

I'd hardly say "failed" considering how long various channels have run them for. The Granada Plus run of Corrie only stopped because the channel closed, same with UK Gold's run of EastEnders- only ended when that morphed into a comedy channel.

And The Bill is still on pretty constant run on both Drama and W. Not entirely a soap admittedly, but still.

YET Take the high road is still going strong on STV2, yet when there moved the broadcast around to try and sync the content up there were alot of storm of protest.

They could be chronological. Before Ken and Deirdre finally got married in 1981 she did have a friendship with both Ken and Mike. Although I don’t remember any fights until after the love triangle; the most famous fight in the Rovers being in 1990.

I could be wrong.

It would be good if they were shown in chronological order.

Does anybody remember where Granada Plus got up to when the channel stopped?

The first one seems to be this one: http://coronationstreet.wikia.com/wiki/Episode_1969_(13th_February_1980)

Last episode on Plus was this one: http://coronationstreet.wikia.com/wiki/Episode_3657_(9th_February_1994)
