Not thatI'm picking but it's a 6pt font, not size 6 Razz:

Not that I'm picky, but it should really BE 'picky' .. and there should also be a space between 'that' and 'I'm' Very Happy Razz: Very Happy

I look forward to your rushed and flustered response, which will arrive in your customary manner. Perhaps, you could include in your retort, an explanation of your unhealthy interest in the death of Princes Diana, and why you feel the need to have that breaking news published on the internet. That unquestionably is far more in the minority than my stance on TV graphics.

Wey-hey! I havent been on the forum much lately cos I'm waiting for Telewest to reconnect my broadband - how wonderful to see the sparks flying around here! Ahhh.... like old times.

My tuppence worth: I'm with c@t. I recon Ryan has a habit of WAY over-reacting to the slightest thing.

*Gav stands by to have Ryan posting the forum rules AGAIN.. *

C@t at least consistently has thoughtful and inciteful points to make - and most importantly a sense of humour! .

I still find the coverage of Diana's death facinating. I regularlarly look at the MHP feature of it, to remind myself how monumental and historic that day was.

It's not 'unhealthy' to look back at the history of this country however recent it is.

I welcome anyone with tv captures, videos and sounds of Diana's death to please put them online.

Perhaps TV Home could do a feature on coverage of such massive news events such as Diana's death & September 11th

I find myself agreeing with Jamez here (not often is it mate?) regarding Diana. I cant think of a moment in history that still leaves me reeling in the way that it did. I remember the lovely Greggles (Greg Scott) made a request for such clips and was shot down in flames by other forum users who accused him of 'being sick'. Not so.

Sure, there are whackos out there who want to see the pictures taken as she lay dying in the car but the rest of us (doubtless the vast majority) only want to touch that point in time again. It meant a lot to me then and it does now.

I dont know how easy I would find watching clips of the media reports from the day that followed but I wouldnt shy away from it.

I have to admit, the only coverage I saw from that day was at 7.00am when I turned on to BBC 1 to find no CBBC so I turned to BBC 2 still no CBBC, so I listened in and thought, must be a foreign princess. As soon as I heard who it was I ran straight upstairs and told my mum. Then that was it, I went to umm, Toys R Us or PC World or somewhere like that. I didn't see any TV until the evening where unusually I was watching ITV.

I think its, as my mum would say, a morbid fascination. But really it is such a serious event that it couldn't happen again, much like September 11th, which I recorded, but I will never watch again.

Its about reliving events to help you understand.

I remember being a lazy sod on that Sunday morning in the late summer of 1997. I got up at around 9am, and unusually i didn't turn my telly on in my room.

I went into the kitchen, proceeded to have some brekky, and as I was getting the milk out of the fridge my mum comes into the room and says 'have you been watching telly?' I replied 'no...why?' she then says 'Princess Diana and Dodi were killed in a car crash last night in France'.

At first for some reason I laughed, and said 'YEAH RIGHT!' then she said 'what's the matter with you? your're not normal...'

I then went straight to my room, turned on the telly to see the headlines at 9am 'This is BBC television from London...'

I remained glued to the telly all day, channel hopping between BBC and ITV.

Got in from a night out at about 2:30am, very drunk. Put Sky News on to see what was happening in the world and it had just been announced that Dodi was dead, Diana seriously injured. I spent the rest of the night and through to 3pm the following day flicking between Sky News (which was my main source), BBC1, ITV, CNN & CNBC (MSNBC). At 3pm I got a couple of hours kip and continued watching when I got back up.

That is practically identical to what I did!

i cant remember why i was up so early - about 5:30am-ish i think, i remember bbc world on 1 (cant remember what was on 2) dermot was on ITN and ch4/ch5 weren't covering it.

i remember thinking why are they making such a big deal of it (well i was only 14 years old).  i remember the ITN coverage ending at 6am, GMTV taking over, and then ITN resuming at half nine with trevor mcdonald in the ITN studio with the black fabric background.

i remember the bbc domestic newsroom taking over and the scary 'this is bbc television from london' announcement at 9am.

i also distinctively remember the national anthum being played after the news came through that she had died.

i also remember QVC didnt broadcast that day - and BRMB took the IRN news coverage with the national anthum on the hour.
