Some bizarre suggestions for replacements in here. Whoever it ends up being (and it won’t be anytime soon) has to be someone that hits the brief of a) delivering interesting clickbait-worthy moments, b) can interview and challenge and c) has the personality to carry the show. Many of the normal stand-ins fall down on point c. I’d personally say Kay Burley is *most* likely given her style and current fallout with her employers (and I don’t see 2 women being an issue) if they want more of the same.

To be fair that speculation began here on post 5 of this thread and also months before him leaving GMB.

I would say Burley is unlikely for two reasons. Firstly, I think Susanna would be more put out by being paired up with alongside a combative female rather than a combative male, the dynamic would just seem odd. Secondly, I’m not sure she’d be seen as any less of liability than Morgan, considering she herself is currently serving a 6 month suspension.

One of Piers's 'better' moments, winding up Corbynite activist Ash Sarkar.

You can tell that was a while ago (besides the non social distancing and the fact they are sat at about 10 desks previous to the current one!) because Susanna actually gets fully involved. These days she would have just rolled her eyes and pouted, before linking into the break

There is also the fact that despite how much people like Sarkar dislike Morgan, if it wasn’t for the Morgan style of TV debates, where they always get the people with most extreme views both sides, she wouldn’t get any work.

I guess though some of the 'odder'/more left-field suggestions are at least good for a laugh.

I can't help feeling were she not a fictional character Joan Callamezzo from Parks & Rec would be perfect for GMB. Journalistic extrodinaire and great at the 'Gotcha' questions

17 pages and no mention of Emily Maitlis or Naga Munchetty? Guess that ship has sailed.

I'm sure Jeremy Vine will welcome Ash Sarkar to his show with open arms!

I think she's been on his C5 show numerous times.
