Susanna obviously felt a lot of pressure when reading that just now. Felt it overly formal tbh, whereas Ranvir’s more relaxed observations felt more appropriate.

Also, Susanna has waited five years to be ‘heard’ on this show. Given this opening discussion re Meghan, what she does have to say is rather um, dull.

An explanation about his departure, but no apology.

The main difference is they are having a discussion between each other - dull or not - they are looking at each other, listening and responding. They are not shouting each other down because they disagree.

Also by dull - do you mean appropriate? Driving to work in a car is far more dull then a helicopter - doesn’t make the helicopter appropriate.

Susanna's opening statement was strange - it danced around the issue of Morgan's departure without really addressing it substantively. It felt like it was a pre-approved statement whereas what Ranvir said felt 'more natural'

It's not very often Susanna has to turn to her co presenter and actually ASK for their opinion, is it?!

Feels like a different show already. Bet they'll hit the 0700 and 0800 junctions on time now.

Towards the end of Rob’s clip above, Ranvir slightly alludes to how this decision perhaps unfolded in reality. Her choice of words along the lines of “you know, when there are so many complaints, they have to be dealt with.......”.

Anyway.......time to move on.

Is it awful that I want to see BBC Breakfast's take on Piers' departure which is coming up soon?

I agree, Susanna is clearly upset. Ranvir on the other hand, doesn’t seem in the least bit bothered (from what I can see).

Susanna is upset, probably in the same way Rod Hull would have been if Emu had suddenly flounced off

This morning's GMB so far is reminding me of how the first NBC Today after Matt Lauer's departure felt. Very structured, business as usual.

No by dull I mean dull. I’m not talking about the tone but the observations she’s making. Piers was completely out of order on Monday by the way, but the idea Piers-less GMB will maintain free-flowing chat between 0630 and 0700 is for the birds. That bit of the ‘format’ doesn’t work without him.

Scott Bryan on Breakfast just described GMB as the disruptive child in the classroom who goes too far which is quite a good description of what the programme was like. Covered pretty much like any other story on Breakfast with no opinion from Dan and Louise.

This is exactly what Mrs Markymark is saying about this morning's show, (normal viewer, though she does call it GMB, and isn't confused by the clock on ITV+1)
