I think it's a two-sided coin as to whether he was strong and able. He was very charismatic, and appeared to work very well with a divided Congress (essential in the US political system if gridlock is to be avoided), however, he played the patriot card on most of his famous legislative packages - during the Cold War, any politician who opposed his policy of boosting military spending, for example, would be seen as being easy on Communism - not a good thing electorally.
Anyway, back to TV pres - who is that presenter on News 24 now?

In my view, a very strong and able president, especially due to belief in free market economics.

The US isn't much better politcally now though is it!
In the end it led to the defeat of communism, even if it was by a bomb by bomb approach - and stopping Europe turing red could hadly be a bad thing!

And News 24 seems to be trying to outdo CBS on the awkwardness stakes at the moment.
Jake Lynch is full of ums and ers; you can tell when the director tells him to change tack if the VT isn't ready or the line's not up. He's now doing a telephone interview with a Russian who is laughing mid-sentence, and interrupting Jake Lynch with "I do not understand question", then leaving 10 seconds of silence accompanied by phone clicking. It's entertaining in an awkward kind of way.
What is it about death that makes news networks go to pieces and do impressions of training programmes?

You can see how CBS went on air with the news on CBSNews.com
Very thrifty, not particularly sad, quite clinical almost. And a bit of a technical mess.
Dan Rather was left hanging, waiting for an obit to come up, decided to interject, and was cut off as they faded into the report.

Hi, this is my first post, although I've followed this site for the best part of two years. Anyway on to the question. At 00:30, Sky News are airing a CBS News program. Do they usually do this or was it just because of Reagan's death?
FU
They usually do this.

It's always aired. The only exception I can think of is when CBS decided to show footage of Princess Diana deemed unacceptable by Sky News.
