As a bus enthusiast, I've known this to happen to a few firms over the years. Mckindless of Wishaw shut up shop suddenly, one Friday evening. JPT travel of Manchester are thought to be really battling, and could go anytime. Often there are signs and suspicions a firm is in trouble. But, when it does go under, it can often be quick, rapid, and a shock to the system.

That's what's happened here.

Doesn't paint a very pretty picture of the company in its dying days.

Why would he need to be escorted out of the building? He wasn't causing any harm. If Bid didn't listen to anyone, then I'm not surprised they've entered administration. Thumbs down Rolling Eyes

I think we've seen Bid's true colours. If they ever return (I doubt they ever will), I don't think I'll be one of their loyal viewers.

It can be common practice when people are fired with immediate effect.

That's pretty telling really. He must feel vindicated somewhat. I wonder if the bosses referred to are Kaye and Wright? If it were they (and I would certainly guess so, given how closely Shop at Bid resembled the last lot of Ideal World graphics - when they were last in control) - then I hope they realise what a colossal mistake they made.

It depends on how the management saw his "feedback." If they, for whatever reason, interpreted it as gross misconduct, then it's not unusual to be frogmarched out of the building.

Quite often, if you're working and put under investigation for something, then you'll be asked to leave and will be escorted out in order to ensure that you do not discuss anything with anybody internally. Of course, this varies from business to business, and we do not have the full picture with these circumstances - and never will either.

The events Guy Kean refers to occurred before March, presumably in February around the time of his last shift.

Shouldn't this be in the Good Morning Britain thread?

At least they gave him an escort to go home with.

Interestingly, the Sit-Up (or Bid Shopping) site is still online, for now. http://www.sit-up.tv/index.html

Not really, as it realtes to Sit up TV going bust.

And it's hardly going to be a good morning tomorrow for the poor staff who've lost their jobs.

When Shop! closed down years ago, was that Littlewoods who backed it, and just decided to close the business, rather than the firm going bust?
