Really nice to see GMB do a musical performance with Sinead O'Connor today. I think you'd be able to count the number of performances on one hand since the GMB launch. Daybreak kept them going but I remember back in the GMTV days they seemed like a regular feature.
It was also nice to see more creative use of the studio.
I don't think the use of the studio was that creative. It looked like they'd dimmed the lights, shoved her in a corner and wrapped a platform in fairy lights.
I think it was trying to be too clever by trying to show how mult-purpose the studio is, when actually it isn't. It would have been far more effective to have hung some dark drapes to hide the set.
P.S. And why send out Richard Arnold to the Rugby World Cup rather than their sports journalist. The trailer seemed very disrespectful to the tournament and you expect better from the official broadcaster.

Seems like Richard's coverage will focus more on the culture than the actual tournament, and there'll be more analysis in the studio with guest etc. But I agree with your point.
How have GMB managed to keep the text number 67890 for all these years? Even after GMTV and Daybreak.
Why woudl it change? The same production team and set-up made GMTV, Daybreak and continue to make GMB.
I think his question was less "why haven't they changed it" and more "how have they managed to keep hold of it without somebody else trying to buy it".
I've got a Radio Times from July 2004 and even the same presenters from GMTV are on GMB so Kate Garraway, Ben Sheppard and Richard Arnold. I guess for ITV, if its not broke then don't try to fix it, well expect name changes and sets etc.
