Saw a tweet from Erron with a hashtag #standbyregions. So I guess that’s what the new sting is that is being Quoted above

#standbyregions is the standard cue that they use to the regions IIRC.

Watch carefully Esther drops an S Bomb at 00:05

“Course SHe does” is what was said, pretty clear. Unless you’re looking for her to drop an S bomb...

She seems to make a rather disturbing S sound at the end, which bothers me more than the confusion between the S bomb and 'course she does.'

Really nice to see GMB do a musical performance with Sinead O'Connor today. I think you'd be able to count the number of performances on one hand since the GMB launch. Daybreak kept them going but I remember back in the GMTV days they seemed like a regular feature.

It was also nice to see more creative use of the studio.

I don't think the use of the studio was that creative. It looked like they'd dimmed the lights, shoved her in a corner and wrapped a platform in fairy lights.

I think it was trying to be too clever by trying to show how mult-purpose the studio is, when actually it isn't. It would have been far more effective to have hung some dark drapes to hide the set.

How have GMB managed to keep the text number 67890 for all these years? Even after GMTV and Daybreak.

Why would they change it?

P.S. And why send out Richard Arnold to the Rugby World Cup rather than their sports journalist. The trailer seemed very disrespectful to the tournament and you expect better from the official broadcaster.

Seems like Richard's coverage will focus more on the culture than the actual tournament, and there'll be more analysis in the studio with guest etc. But I agree with your point.

The BBC equivalent is 'Standby Nations and Regions' Smile

Why woudl it change? The same production team and set-up made GMTV, Daybreak and continue to make GMB.

I think his question was less "why haven't they changed it" and more "how have they managed to keep hold of it without somebody else trying to buy it".

Presumably in much the same way as providing you keep paying your phone bill, you get to keep your number!

I've got a Radio Times from July 2004 and even the same presenters from GMTV are on GMB so Kate Garraway, Ben Sheppard and Richard Arnold. I guess for ITV, if its not broke then don't try to fix it, well expect name changes and sets etc.
