Those NBC sets are basically their NHL on NBC sets with a few different objects on the shelves and different things on the plasmas.

NBC's music is a combination of Leo Arnaud 'Bugler's Dream' and John Williams 'Olympic Fanfare and Theme'. ABC used 'Bugler's Dream' between the Winter Olympics of 1964 and 1988. When NBC won the rights for the Seoul Olympics they used Whitney Houston's 'One Moment in Time.' From Barcelona 1992 onwards they have used this combination of 'Bugler's Dream' and John Williams piece that he wrote for the 1984 Olympics in LA.

It sounded like there was an updated version of the Fanfare and Theme playing with stabs that could be played at any time to cut the track short.

South Korean broadcasters are covering OBS graphics in English with Korean data. This effectively pleases a type mania like me as KBS and MBC uses Korean font which contains Helvetica-like grotesque alphabets and numerals, while SBS is using a humanist font.

Any other non-Anglophone examples of covering?

So, in the same way that the BBC did the tennis coverage, YLE did the track and field, KBS did the archery, and NOS ballsed up the road race cycling coverage for OBS for London 2012 do we know who is producing coverage of some events for Sochi under the guise of the padded OBS winter jackets?

Is it really fair to say that NOS ballsed up the road race coverage? When OBS contracts out an event to somebody else, is that somebody else responsible for absolutely everything involved? All kit and planning and everything?

It was blamed on spectators using up all the bandwidth I seem to remember. The timing beacons were using the 3G data network I guess? Maybe NOS didn't anticipate the demand.

Can anyone expand on what exactly the Olympics News Channel feed is (available to host broadcasters, and referred to in the PDF posted). Is it packaged up content that some broadcasters (probably those with few resources) can just grab and put to air?

Does it actually broadcast in full anywhere? I get the impression it doesn't, but might as well ask.
