I imagine Viacom could put the 'Channel 5 +24' channel to better use, especially as I believe it's currently available on Freeview. Whilst it's probably very cheap to run it's a waste of a freeview slot, which viacom might wish to use to show one of their other existing channels.

They might want to sort out Viva first. It's an awful channel these days and it feels like it hasn't had any attention in years. It gets rubbish ratings for a pretty prime Freeview slot.
Also judging by what's been said about MTV's arrangements with Sky I can imagine they've got similar deals in place with their other subscription channels so I can't really see them moving anything onto Freeview soon.
I think whatever was based in the main Northern & Shell building will/has move/d to Viacom in Camden. I know that the in house production team and Milkshake have got at least a year's lease in N&S's horrible porn building in the Docklands so they won't be moving any time soon.
Just saw a C5 ad for Dallas on MTV Music, it has begun...
I can see this as a good opportunity for Viacom to show some of their other channel programmes on Channel 5 as it has a potentially much bigger audience being a PSB channel and on ALL platforms. NickJnr on 5 could replace Milkshake whilst they could introduce on Nick on 5 thread for some of their other shows such as Songebob and, hopefully, Het Huis Anubis (oops I mean The House of Anubis) whilst investing original programming for the channel - isn't the rights to new episodes of Fifth Gear coming up soon which could mean a return for 5 (if Viacom sees fit) - Good opportunity to basically relaunch the channel and make it more "for the family" than what it currently is whilst keeping some of their prize pickings such as Wright Stuff, H&A and Neighbours.

There already starting cross promotion, with Viva highlight Ch5 shows and catch up.
Could we see a return of friends to terrestrial? Or at least air another Comedy Central comedy, or would rights to broadcast free to air be an issue?
As for the nick jnr on 5 idea, I think it would be awful to get rid of milkshake, it has become such a strong brand for the pre school audience, though joint investment and cross promotion could be used more.

Thanks, I was trying to find some info about this.
So have they continually moved buildings with each new owner? Channel 4 have been in Horseferry Road since it first broadcast, so is it not an operational nightmare for channel 5 to move its HQ each time?

Channel 4 have been at Horseferry Road since 1994, not since it's fist broadcast. They were originally at 60 Charlotte Street in the West End of London.
I think, so far Channel 5 has only moved the once (though I could be wrong), previously they were at 22 Long Acre.
