True, but in all fairness - I think the chemistry between Gordon and Ranvir was a slow burner.
They need time to establish themselves and it will not happen overnight.
It definitely was. An interview with Gordon in 2007 said he didn't like double-headed programmes because of the experience he had with the Krypton Factor. The chemistry even between Ranvir and Diane took a while to happen.
I think tonight's chemistry failure at the end had something to do with Ranvir being told to say good night too early. It must be difficult to look relaxed and have a chat whilst anticipating someone in your ear telling you to shut up and say bye whilst making the chat seem seamless.
I think it would have looked better if Roger and Ranvir remained standing for the top story with images of it on the screens, similar to the six.
Well as long as he does not tell her she is wearing something from the seventies then Roger may avoid getting a tongue lashing - unlike Jackie Bird and David Robertson from BBC Reporting Scotland a few years back.
Why do the regions need a double headed programme anyway - I personally think that Ranvir would have been more than capable anchoring the programme herself. It also saves some money and I think I am correct in saying that the news channel is considering single headed slots as well - and they are tackling breaking news as well.
Nice studio, titles etc but as was previously said the presenting is very wooden and lack any sort of chemistry, every time one spoke, the other looked miserable, I can see ratings for Granada Reports increasing since Gordon left. Maybe it's because I'm used to Look North where all the presenters have good chummy chemistry and all the other regions are like this?!

I completely agree. The double-headed idea was good in 2007 in order to ease Ranvir in before Gordon's inevitable retirment but now I don't think it's necessary and somewhat awkward.

You can't squeeze two people onto a tiny, high desk behind a relatively small plasma screen
Even if you could, it would look very daft and unprofessional.
I like the new look, just shame there is no newsdesk, surely they could have fitted it in the corner like they did for breakfast bulletins

Well it looks like they are nearly sitting on each other's laps when you see the shot of the two of them sitting next to each other.

I like it, sure it's more of the same but it does look better than the current Breakfast set, it's a bit more glamorous. I like the fact the background is not just a news-wall and those pillars separating the screens are a nice touch, maybe they will lit them in different colours for different shows.
I hope there are more parts of the set and surprises for Breakfast. If it's only this I doubt the casual viewer will even notice the difference which was probably their intention in the end.

Out of curiosity, where did the late edition of NWT come from? Was it the breakfast/ DTL set or the main studio with the sofa?
